As the number of electric vehicles (EVs) starts to increase dramatically in the coming years, electricity network operators such as SP Energy Networks (SPEN) will need to support the underlying infrastructure in a safe, flexible and cost-effective manner.
The Charge Project is developing a blueprint for electricity Distribution Network Operators (DNOs) to prepare for this challenge. The project will help to develop new solutions for connecting EV chargepoints to the electricity network in a way that balances network capacity with the future needs motorist.
Engagement with regional and national stakeholders will strengthen understanding of how users will interact with planning tools, how EV uptake and charging infrastructure is likely to develop, and project learning can be best shared.
The Charge Project started in January 2019 and will run until March 2023. The project was awarded funding by Ofgem’s Network Innovation Competition and is hosted by SPEN in their MANWEB licence area.
Marketing, PR and Dissemination Support
Tenders are requested for the supply of marketing, PR and dissemination services for the project. These ‘Communications’ services will support the delivery of the project and will disseminate project learning.
A provider of Marketing, PR and Dissemination Support services is sought to develop and help deliver an effective marketing/promotional strategy for the project. This strategy will include a clear communications plan to support stakeholder engagement activity led by SPEN and identify when dissemination materials will be made available to allow SPEN to update the appropriate communication channels.
Other requirements will include the development, maintenance, and promotion of the Charge Project’s digital presence for the duration of the project, including the development of material and content in suitable form and suggestions for effective engagement.
The role of the provider will be to ensure that the project receives positive publicity throughout its life and the provider will take a leading role in promoting the project in collaboration with EA Technology’s marketing team and SPEN’s stakeholder engagement team.
